Minority and OBC Cell

Introduction

The Minority and OBC Cell at Anjuman Arts, Science and Commerce College is established to empower students from OBC and minority communities and ensure their academic and personal development.

Aims

Objectives

  1. The Cell is committed to assisting minority students through personality development classes, remedial coaching, preparatory classes for the students to excel in their studies.
  2. To co-ordinate through the university with Govt., UGC and such other organizations to get Scholarships/freeship/other financial benefits for OBC & minority students.
  3. To provide information regarding the various provisions permitted by the Government and University to cater to the needs of the students of the community.
  4. To facilitate financial support to students from minority communities from governmental agencies and other sources.

Activities

The facilities of Minority and OBC Cell are as follows:

  1. Financial support: To help students access scholarships and other financial benefits.
  2. Leadership development: To empower students through leadership development programs.
  3. Academic assistance: Remedial classes and other academic support to help students excel in their studies.
  4. Awareness programs: To educate the campus community about the challenges faced by minority students.
  5. Equal opportunities: To advocate and implement policies that ensure equal opportunities for minority students.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Ensuring and environment where students from these categories feel safe and secure.
  2. Making students of these communities aware of the various scholarships of the UGC, Government of Karnataka and Government of India.
  3. Motivating and assisting students from these communities to apply for the various scholarships mentioned above.
  4. Collecting data about students who have received scholarships.
